Most of the wooden chairs were designed taking into account the shape and function, but not necessarily comfort. You can solve this problem by adding a chair pads. Most wooden chairs can accommodate a cushion for the seat, but not all are deep enough to use a pad on the back.

Pad box or bellows
Sew the top and bottom of the cushion piece bellows. Brand chair pads where you want to sew the strips to tie them to posts or spindles of the chair. Strips stitched at positions along circled line bottom seam. Wrap the high density foam with batting and fill the case. Make 2 to 3 inches (2.54 to 3.75 cm) of foam to be more comfortable.
Cushion rounded edge
For a circle on a whole piece, use a method that lies between the pad and bellows box: the rounded edge. This model requires two pieces of fabric, one upper and one lower that are joined by a seam.
